Last year at this time, we were surrounded by our friends and family for Christmas before we departed on our cross country adventure. This year, it was just us. We really missed spending time with everyone, but enjoyed some quality time as our own little family.
I worked until noon on Christmas Eve. Once home, I immediately changed into my pj's and headed to the kitchen to start baking. Mike and Zater napped while I baked and watched Christmas movies... all by the glow of our hand cut Christmas tree! [Quick side story: we took all the ornaments off the tree while moving it from one house to the other... ya know... to minimize the risk of breaking the glass ornaments... once in the new house I redecorated the tree... which stood for about a day... then fell over... breaking some of the ornaments. Go figure.]
No mantle? No worries! We hung our stockings on the stair railing. |
It was a relaxing holiday for us, which was greatly appreciated since the last few weeks have been pretty busy. And, thankfully, there is skype! So we were still able to see and talk to most of our family members. Next year, you all should spend Christmas in Tahoe! Merry Christmas everyone!
"For unto you is born this day in the City of David, a savior, which is Christ the Lord." - Luke 2:11
