FUN.

Harvey's casino has a summer outdoor concert series during the summer and lots of big names come to play: Phish... Steve Miller Band... Brad Paisley... Tim McGraw... Rascal Flatts (which we were lucky enough to see for free)... and LOTS of others.  

Last week one of my fabulous co-workers offered me a last minute free ticket to see FUN.  It was a great show!  

Friday was smokey so we headed to Reno to do some shopping at REI and the Patagonia Outlet.  We stopped by the Truckee river where it runs through downtown Reno and watched some people surf on the rapids... they tie a tow rope to a tree along the side of the river, hold onto the rope and jump into the rapids to surf.  

Saturday was CLEAR!  No smoke in the basin.  Finally back to Tahoe blue skies and beautiful mountain views!  So we loaded up the paddleboards and headed down to watch the paddlewheel boats race.  We have 2 big paddlewheelers in town and every year at the end of the summer they race across the lake.  

Later in the afternoon, Mike went hiking with some buddies to Angora Lakes to go cliff jumping and paddleboarding (I didn't go because I was lame and had a hair appointment that I wanted to keep).  Anyway, at Angora Lakes there are 55-60 ft sheer cliffs that idiots people jump off of.  Crazy.  The video is posted on facebook, but in case you didn't see it there... you can see it here: 

Sunday night, South Lake Tahoe hosted another fireworks show like the did on the 4th of July.  We headed down to the bottom of the hill and found a PERFECT spot to watch the show which is always really impressive.  

And now... it's Labor Day and we BOTH are off of work!  Typically we would be out hiking, etc but sadly, the smoke from the Rim Fire is back.  So, we're taking it easy and enjoying a relaxing Labor Day at home!  HAPPY LABOR DAY EVERYONE!!!!
